A Better Way to Clean GDI Intake Valves

Cleaning is needed every 10,000 miles or at every oil change to prevent deposit buildup.

What Our Customers Say

I’ve used CRC products since I was a kid so, they’re not some new company. It said in the ad and on the can “Safe for Turbos and Intercoolers.”

I applied the product per the instructions. My immediate impression is a much smoother idle and better throttle tip-in.

ST Forum

I first tried this in my 1995 Jeep that has close to 300,000 miles on it (original motor and it has not had a rebuild done to it) my gas mileage went up, the idle is smoother and runs a lot better than before.

Since it worked so well I use it on everything. The best part about it is it’s easy to use.

Paul, CA

Just picked up a 2006 Cadillac CTS 3.6L with only 52,000 miles, but it needed some serious help. Cleaned the MAF, Throttle body, changed air filter, did an engine oil flush along with oil change and filter, and of course, used CRC Intake Valve Cleaner on it.

GDI = Gasoline Direct Injection

More Efficient, More Power

In GDI engines, gasoline is injected directly into the cylinder, bypassing the intake valves. This provides more engine power and better fuel efficiency.

Gets Dirty Faster

Gasoline is a great cleaner. Without gas washing over the valves, as it does in conventional (PFI) engines, carbon builds up quickly on the backs of GDI intake valves. This leads to reduced power and performance.

Difficult to Clean

Until now, removing carbon buildup on GDI intake valves has been difficult and costly. Labor-intensive processes such as walnut-shell blasting and manual valve cleaning require engine teardown to access the valves.

GDI: Improved Engine Design Needs Special Cleaning

Easy-to-use CRC GDI IVD® Intake Valve & Turbo Cleaner is sprayed through the air intake.

It contains the highest Concentration of PEA (Polyether amine) detergency which is delivered directly to the backs of the GDI intake valves and removes up to 46% of carbon deposits in the first 60 minutes. No costly engine teardown is required, and it is safe and effective for all gas-powered engines, including turbos.

Remember, gasoline additives don’t reach intake valves on GDI engines!

CRC GDI IVD® Intake Valve & Turbo Cleaner

Frequently Asked Questions

What is PEA?

Polyether Amine or PEA. This is the active ingredient for carbon removal.

How often can I use the product on my vehicle?

It is safe to use every 10,000 miles or at every oil change.

Can I use on turbo or super charged engines?

Yes, it is effective for turbos and super-charged engines.

Can I use this product if I have a twin turbo engine?

Yes, it is effective for use on twin turbo systems.

Can I still use the product even if my engine is port fuel injection?

Yes you can, and you apply the product in the same fashion.

After performing the service do I really have to wait a full hour before driving the vehicle?

Yes this will allow the product to hot soak into the carbon especially since the engine is still hot.

On my turbo charged engine where can I spray the product?

You may spray directly through the throttle body or close enough to it.

Can I spray the product through my turbo?

Yes it may safely be sprayed through the air intake, allowing the product to pass through the turbo.

Will this product harm my oxygen sensors?

No this product is safe for O2 sensors.

Will this product hurt my catalytic converter?

No the use of this product will not harm the catalytic converter.

Can I spray this product into a vacuum port or another intake passage?

Yes you can spray into a vacuum port.

What if my vehicle does not have a mass air flow sensor. Where can I spray the product?

You can still use the product and spray through the throttle body. You can also remove the MAF sensor and spray where the sensor is mounted. If the vehicle is turbo charged, you can remove the boost sensor in the charge pipe and spray into the pipe.

Note: Use caution not to spray in front of mass air flow sensor as damage to sensor may occur.
